18L Fruit Press with Filter Bag

18L Fruit Press with Filter Bag

€195,00

Extract fresh juice from your home-grown fruit with this 18L Manual Fruit Press, ideal for home cider makers, winemakers and juice producers. Designed with a large-capacity pressing basket and a robust screw mechanism, it provides strong, even pressure to help maximise juice extraction from prepared fruit.

The extended hand shank provides greater leverage, reducing the effort required during pressing, while the thick pressing plate and large pressing surface help apply pressure more evenly across the fruit.

With an 18-litre pressing basket, this fruit press is ideal for small to medium-sized batches of apples, pears, grapes, berries and other suitable fruit.

Usage Tips

Fruit must be crushed or mashed before pressing. This press is designed to extract juice from prepared fruit pulp rather than whole fruit.

For apples, pears and other firm fruits, cut the fruit into quarters or smaller pieces and process them using a suitable fruit crusher or mill before pressing. Creating a good-quality fruit mash allows the press to extract considerably more juice.

Soft fruits such as grapes, raspberries and currants generally require only gentle crushing. Avoid crushing grape seeds or fruit stones, as this can release bitter compounds and negatively affect the flavour and colour of your juice.

For best results:

  • Process fruit into a suitable mash before pressing.
  • Use a suitable pressing bag or cloth inside the basket.
  • Process only healthy, ripe fruit.
  • Remove rotten, mouldy, damaged or overripe fruit.
  • Wash fruit thoroughly before crushing and pressing.
  • Apples and pears should be thoroughly crushed to maximise juice yield.
  • Avoid crushing seeds and stones wherever possible.

Important Information

This is a fruit press, not a conventional juicer. It is designed to press prepared fruit pulp while leaving seeds and pips largely intact. This is particularly important when making wine or cider from grapes and other soft fruits, where crushing the seeds can introduce unwanted bitterness.

Hard vegetables such as sugar beet and carrots, as well as unprepared hard fruit, are not suitable for direct pressing. Fruit should always be properly crushed or milled first.

Assembly

Assembly is required before the fruit press can be used. Follow the supplied assembly instructions carefully and ensure all components are securely fitted before applying pressure.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if my order is delivered and it is damaged?

Contact us straight away. All our orders are packaged carefully but unfortunately sometimes packages do get damaged in transport. Unlike some other homebrew and glass suppliers, if this happens we will replace the damaged goods free of charge.

Where are your products manufactured?

As an Irish Company we take pride in supporting Irish manufacturing businesses. Unfortunately we can't get everything made in Ireland so we work on an As Local As Possible principle. This means we get everything from as close to Sligo, Ireland as possible. Sometimes this is Poland or England or France or Scotland. You can always find the country of manufacture in the product description.

When will I get my order?

We dispatch all our orders within 2 days. Our parcels are shipped with tracking by An Post or DPD. Once handed over delivery usually take 2-3 days.

Can I return my order?

We do accept returns with full refunds once the product is undamaged. If the products are damaged in return transit you will be refunded the purchase amount minus the cost of damaged goods.

How much does shipping cost?

Our Standard Tracked Shipping in Ireland is €7 or free on orders over €75 but smaller items (i.e. yeast packets, bubblers, syphon tubes) qualify as "small orders" and are €3.95 to ship or free over €30
