AlcoEngine Reflux Solid Copper Condeser

AlcoEngine Reflux Solid Copper Condeser

€169,95

The AlcoEngine Reflux Still is designed for enthusiasts looking to produce clean, high-purity neutral spirit. Its flow management (FM) design gives direct control over spirit output and reflux, making the still straightforward to operate without the need for constant adjustment of cooling water flow.

The still uses solid copper construction, which provides effective contact between the vapour and copper during distillation. The system is designed as a compact, reliable setup that can be used with a wide range of compatible boilers.

Key Features

  • Flow management (FM) reflux design
  • Designed for producing high-purity neutral spirit
  • Solid copper construction
  • Direct control of spirit flow and reflux ratio
  • Two interchangeable brass flow-control inserts included
  • 1.0mm insert for faster flow and stripping runs
  • 0.6mm insert for slower flow and increased reflux
  • Can produce spirit up to 96% alcohol
  • Lead-free brass fittings
  • Lead-free silver soldering
  • High-quality construction
  • Australian-designed
  • Compatible with a wide range of boilers

Flow Management System

The FM design controls the flow of spirit from the still rather than requiring precise adjustment of the cooling-water flow rate.

Two flow-control inserts are included:

  • 1.0mm insert: Suitable for stripping runs and higher spirit flow
  • 0.6mm insert: Slower spirit flow with increased reflux for higher purity

The ball valve can also be used to manually control spirit flow, although the supplied inserts provide a simpler and more consistent method.

Boiler Compatibility

The AlcoEngine Reflux Still can be used with a variety of compatible boilers, including:

  • BrewZilla
  • DigiBoil
  • RoboBrew
  • Turbo Boilers
  • Grainfather systems
  • Suitable stainless steel kegs
  • Custom boilers with a suitable 47mm opening

For use on a 50L keg, a 2" Tri-Clamp connection is required.

Required Distillation Lids

A suitable distillation lid is required when using this still with a BrewZilla or DigiBoil.

35L systems:

  • 35L Standard Distillation Lid with 47mm hole
  • 35L Pro Tri-Clamp Distillation Lid with 2" Tri-Clamp
  • 2" Tri-Clamp Clamp required with the Pro lid

65L systems:

  • 65L Standard Distillation Lid with 47mm hole
  • 65L Pro Tri-Clamp Distillation Lid
  • Additional 2" and 4" Tri-Clamp components required for the Pro setup

Cooling Requirements

The still requires adequate coolant flow through the condenser. Unlike coolant-management designs, the FM system does not require constant fine-tuning of the cooling-water flow rate, provided sufficient coolant is available.

For recirculating systems, a suitably powerful pump is recommended due to the restriction within the condenser.

Optional Extension Tube

A 2" Tri-Clamp stainless steel extension tube can be added to increase the length of the reflux column. This can be used with additional copper or stainless steel packing to increase reflux capacity and potentially achieve higher purity or faster collection rates.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if my order is delivered and it is damaged?

Contact us straight away. All our orders are packaged carefully but unfortunately sometimes packages do get damaged in transport. Unlike some other homebrew and glass suppliers, if this happens we will replace the damaged goods free of charge.

Where are your products manufactured?

As an Irish Company we take pride in supporting Irish manufacturing businesses. Unfortunately we can't get everything made in Ireland so we work on an As Local As Possible principle. This means we get everything from as close to Sligo, Ireland as possible. Sometimes this is Poland or England or France or Scotland. You can always find the country of manufacture in the product description.

When will I get my order?

We dispatch all our orders within 2 days. Our parcels are shipped with tracking by An Post or DPD. Once handed over delivery usually take 2-3 days.

Can I return my order?

We do accept returns with full refunds once the product is undamaged. If the products are damaged in return transit you will be refunded the purchase amount minus the cost of damaged goods.

How much does shipping cost?

Our Standard Tracked Shipping in Ireland is €7 or free on orders over €75 but smaller items (i.e. yeast packets, bubblers, syphon tubes) qualify as "small orders" and are €3.95 to ship or free over €30
