Chinook Hop Pellets 100g

Chinook Hop Pellets 100g

€8,10

Chinook is a classic American hop known for its bold piney and slightly spicy character. With its high alpha acid content, it is a versatile dual-purpose variety that can provide firm bitterness while adding distinctive pine, resinous and spicy notes to the finished beer.

Chinook is particularly popular in hop-forward American beers, where its strong character works well alongside citrus and other resinous hops. Its high alpha acids also make it an efficient choice for bittering additions.

Similar & Substitute Hops

Chinook can be replaced or complemented by other hops with piney, resinous and spicy characteristics, including:

  • Columbus – strong resinous, earthy and spicy character
  • Simcoe – piney and resinous with additional citrus and fruit notes
  • Northern Brewer – woody, herbal and slightly minty character
  • Nugget – clean bittering hop with herbal and earthy notes

Beer Styles

Chinook works particularly well in:

  • American Pale Ale
  • IPA
  • Stout
  • Porter
  • Lager
  • American Amber Ale
  • Red Ale
  • Other hop-forward American styles

Its high alpha acid content also makes it an excellent bittering hop, while later additions can bring out its characteristic piney and spicy flavours.
