Chemsan Acid-Based Brewing Sanitiser – 500ml

Chemsan from Chemisphere UK is a high-quality acid-based sanitiser designed specifically for use in brewing and fermentation. It is an essential product for keeping brewing equipment properly sanitised before fermentation, bottling and other stages of the brewing process.

Chemsan contains a powerful blend of phosphoric acid, benzenesulfonic acid and isopropanol. When diluted correctly, it provides an effective no-rinse sanitising solution for brewing equipment and surfaces. It is similar in application to popular brewing sanitisers such as Star San and Craftsan.

Chemsan can be applied using a spray, cloth, sponge, brush or by immersion, making it suitable for a wide range of homebrewing equipment. At the recommended concentration, equipment can be allowed to air dry without rinsing, making it particularly convenient when preparing fermenters, bottles and brewing equipment for use.

Instructions for Use

Before using Chemsan, all dirty surfaces should first be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable cleaner such as Chemclean and rinsed well.

Dilute 10ml of Chemsan in 5 litres of water to produce a 0.2% solution.

Apply the diluted solution to the surface using a cloth, mop, brush, sponge, spray or by immersion. Ensure that the surface remains wet for a minimum of 2 minutes, then allow it to air dry.

No rinsing is required when Chemsan is used at the recommended concentration.

The solution should maintain a pH of 3.5 or lower to ensure effective performance. Chemsan may become cloudy when diluted with hard water, but this does not affect its effectiveness provided the pH remains at 3.5 or below.

Higher concentrations will require thorough rinsing after use.

Important: Due to its acidic nature, Chemsan is not recommended for use on soft metals.
