Pectic Enzyme Pectinase Pectolase 30g for Wine Making

Pectic Enzyme Pectinase Pectolase 30g for Wine Making

€3,50

This 30 g pectic enzyme, also known as pectinase or pectolase, is used in winemaking and fruit fermentation to break down pectin, improving juice extraction and helping achieve a clearer final product.

By breaking down the natural pectins found in fruit, this enzyme helps release more juice during pressing, reduces haze, and improves clarification. It is especially useful when working with fruit wines, cider, and juices where pectin can cause cloudiness.

It also supports more efficient fining and sedimentation, making it easier to produce a clean, clear drink before bottling.

How It Works

Pectic enzyme breaks down pectin in fruit cell walls, which:

  • Increases juice yield
  • Reduces viscosity
  • Prevents pectin haze
  • Improves clarification and settling

Usage

  • Typical Dosage: 2 to 4 g per 10 litres of must or juice
  • For clarification: up to 8 g per 10 litres depending on turbidity
  • Dissolve in a small amount of water before adding
  • Mix thoroughly into the liquid

Higher doses may be required at lower temperatures or shorter contact times.

Ideal For

  • Fruit wine making
  • Cider production
  • Juice clarification
  • Preventing haze in fermentation
  • Improving pressing efficiency

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if my order is delivered and it is damaged?

Contact us straight away. All our orders are packaged carefully but unfortunately sometimes packages do get damaged in transport. Unlike some other homebrew and glass suppliers, if this happens we will replace the damaged goods free of charge.

Where are your products manufactured?

This means we get everything from as close to Sligo, Ireland as possible. Sometimes this is Poland or England or France or Scotland. You can always find the country of manufacture in the product description.

We dispatch all our orders within 2 days. Our parcels are shipped with tracking by An Post or DPD. Once handed over delivery usually take 2-3 days.

Can I return my order?

We do accept returns with full refunds once the product is undamaged. If the products are damaged in return transit you will be refunded the purchase amount minus the cost of damaged goods.

How much does shipping cost?

Our Standard Tracked Shipping in Ireland is €7 or free on orders over €75 but smaller items (i.e. yeast packets, bubblers, syphon tubes) qualify as "small orders" and are €3.95 to ship or free over €30
