Simcoe® Hop Pellets 100g

Simcoe® Hop Pellets 100g

€10,75

Simcoe® is a highly versatile American dual-purpose hop developed by Yakima Chief Ranches and released in 2000. It has become one of the most popular varieties among craft and home brewers thanks to its combination of high alpha acids and complex aroma character.

Simcoe® offers a layered profile of grapefruit, citrus, stone fruit and tropical fruit, backed by subtle grassy and woody notes. Its versatility makes it equally useful for bittering and late additions, while dry hopping can bring its distinctive fruit and resinous character to the forefront.

Similar & Substitute Hops

Simcoe® can be replaced or complemented by other American hops with citrus, tropical, stone fruit and resinous characteristics, including:

  • Centennial – citrus and grapefruit with floral notes
  • Chinook – piney, spicy and citrus-forward
  • Idaho 7® – tropical and stone fruit with pine and resin
  • Citra – intense tropical, citrus and stone fruit character

Beer Styles

Simcoe® works particularly well in:

  • American Pale Ale
  • IPA
  • American IPA
  • Amber Ale
  • Wheat Beer
  • Saison
  • Session IPA

It is particularly effective in late-boil, whirlpool and dry-hop additions, where its citrus, tropical and stone fruit character can be highlighted. Its high alpha acid content also makes it an effective bittering hop.

You can always find the country of manufacture in the product description.
